Hard Facing

Hard-facing restores worn-down parts and improves original characteristics through an appropriate choice of welding metal and surface technology.

Application

Restore worn parts or protect new parts

By modifying the molecular structure of the pieces, hard-facing increases durability. It is also applied on new parts to limit areas where the metal must have specific characteristics, allowing customers to choose a less expensive material for the rest of the construction.

Assess wear

Identify the worn area, base material, crack risk, geometry loss, and whether repair is technically justified.

Prepare surface

Clean, machine, preheat, remove damaged material, and define the weld or cladding strategy.

Apply layer

Use the selected hard-facing method and thickness to restore or upgrade the functional surface.

04

Finish and inspect

Machine or grind to final geometry, then verify hardness, visual condition, NDT, and dimensional fit where required.

Cost controlWhen the base part is expensive, restoring the working surface can protect the customer's budget.
Shorter routeReconditioning may reduce the need for full new manufacturing when the base component remains usable.
